Terms & Conditions

Welcome to Curtis Campers. These Terms & Conditions apply to all bookings made with us. By making a booking, you confirm that you have read, understood and agree to these Terms & Conditions. 
These Terms are designed to ensure that every customer enjoys a safe, enjoyable and hassle-free experience while helping us maintain our campervans to the highest standard. 

Any damage caused by the driver or by while the driver has the van they will be subject to pay for the damages through their deposit.

1. Booking & Payment

​

A booking is confirmed once the required deposit has been received and you have received written confirmation from Curtis Campers.

The remaining balance must be paid no later than 30 days before the start of your hire. If your booking is made within 30 days of departure, full payment is required at the time of booking.

Failure to pay the outstanding balance by the due date may result in your booking being cancelled.

2. Driver Eligibility

​

All drivers must meet the requirements of our insurance provider.

To hire one of our campervans, drivers must:

  • Hold a full, valid driving licence.

  • Meet the minimum age of 23.

  • Have held their licence for the minimum period required by our insurer.

  • Provide all requested identification and licence checks before the hire begins.

  • Beapproved by our insurance provider before driving the vehicle.

Curtis Campers reserves the right to refuse hire if insurance requirements are not met.

 

3. Security Deposit

​

A refundable security deposit is required before the campervan is collected.

​

The deposit may be used to cover:

  • Damage to the vehicle.

  • Missing or damaged equipment.

  • Excess cleaning charges.

  • Fuel shortages.

  • Late return fees.

  • Parking charges, tolls or traffic offences.

  • Any other costs resulting from a breach of these Terms & Conditions.
     

Provided the vehicle is returned in the agreed condition, your security deposit will normally be refunded within 7-14 days following the completion of the hire.

4. Collection & Return

​

Collection and return times will be agreed before your hire begins.

The campervan should be returned:

  • On time.

  • In the same condition in which it was collected, allowing for fair wear and tear.

  • With the agreed fuel level.

  • With all supplied equipment and accessories.
     

5. Vehicle Use

​

Our campervans must be driven responsibly and used only for lawful purposes.

The following are not permitted unless agreed in writing:

  • Smoking or vaping inside the campervan.

  • Allowing anyone not named on the rental agreement to drive.

  • Driving whilst under the influence of alcohol or drugs.

  • Using the vehicle for racing, competitions or any illegal activity.

  • Exceeding the maximum permitted vehicle weight.

  • Taking the vehicle outside the agreed travel area without prior permission.

  • Any breach of these conditions may invalidate your insurance cover.


 

6. Mileage

​

Your booking includes the mileage allowance stated at the time of booking.

Additional mileage may be charged at the applicable rate where the agreed allowance is exceeded.

7. Insurance

​

Comprehensive insurance is included, subject to the terms, conditions and exclusions of our insurance provider.

Customers remain responsible for the applicable insurance excess in the event of damage or an at-fault accident.

Insurance does not cover damage resulting from negligence, misuse or any breach of these Terms & Conditions.

8. Accidents & Damage

​

If the campervan is involved in an accident, damaged or stolen during your hire, you must:

  • Contact Curtis Campers as soon as possible.

  • Notify the police where legally required.

  • Complete any accident documentation requested.

  • Provide details of any third parties involved.

​

Failure to report incidents promptly may affect insurance cover and result in additional liability.

​

9. Breakdown Assistance

​

Should the campervan suffer a mechanical breakdown during your trip, please contact us immediately.

Where breakdown assistance is provided, customers should follow the instructions given by the breakdown provider.

Repairs should not be authorised without prior approval unless immediate action is required for safety.

​

10. Fuel Policy

​

The campervan must be returned with the same fuel level as when collected.

If additional fuel is required after the vehicle is returned, the cost of refuelling together with an administration fee may be charged.

​

11. Cleaning

​

We understand that some cleaning is expected after a holiday.

However, if the campervan is returned in an excessively dirty condition requiring specialist cleaning, additional cleaning charges may apply.

​

This includes, but is not limited to:

  • Heavy mud.

  • Stains or spillages.

  • Excessive pet hair (where pets have been authorised).

  • Smoke odours.

  • Waste left inside the vehicle.

​

12. Cancellations

​

Our cancellation policy is as follows:

  • More than 30 days before departure - deposit refundable (less any administration fees where applicable).

  • Between 15 and 30 days before departure- 50% of the total booking value may be retained.

  • Less than 15 days before departure - no refund is normally available.

 

If Curtis Campers is unable to fulfil your booking due to circumstances within our control, we will provide a full refund of all monies paid.

13. Parking Charges & Traffic Offences

​

The hirer is responsible for any:

  • Parking fines.

  • Speeding offences.

  • Congestion charges.

  • Toll charges.

  • Low Emission Zone charges.

  • Associated administration fees.

Any notices received after the hire period may be passed on to the hirer.

14. Customer Responsibilities

​

During your hire, you are responsible for:

  • Looking after the campervan and its contents.

  • Ensuring the vehicle is driven safely.

  • Checking warning lights and fluid levels where appropriate.

  • Reporting any faults or damage immediately.

  • Returning all supplied equipment.

15. Our Responsibility

​

Curtis Campers takes pride in maintaining our vehicles to a high standard.

Before every hire, each campervan is thoroughly cleaned, inspected and prepared to ensure it is safe, roadworthy and ready for your holiday.

While we will always do everything reasonably possible to ensure your booking proceeds as planned, we cannot accept responsibility for delays or disruptions caused by events beyond our reasonable control.

16. Personal Belongings

​

Curtis Campers cannot accept responsibility for personal belongings left inside the campervan during or after your hire.

Please ensure you check the vehicle carefully before returning it.

​

17. Limitation of Liability

​

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Curtis Campers shall not be liable for indirect or consequential losses arising from the use or inability to use the campervan, except where liability cannot legally be excluded.

​

Nothing in these Terms limits or excludes liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud or any liability that cannot be excluded under UK law.

​

18. Privacy

​

Any personal information collected during the booking process will be handled in accordance with applicable UK data protection legislation and used only for bookingadministration, insurance verification and legal obligations. 

​

19. Governing Law

​

These Terms & Conditions are governed by the laws of England and Wales.

Any disputes arising from these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
